Welcome to maison de "La Saignée"

Are you looking for an adapted holiday home, which takes your disability into account and is also situated in a fantastic, beautiful and wide environment, including appropriate transportation? Then please stop looking...

During our careers in the Netherlands (Gerda, my wife, was a social worker in Tilburg for 15 years and I worked in the rehabilitation sector for over 25 years), we noticed that there were very few genuine adapted holiday homes available, and certainly not in other countries. It is extremely difficult for people, particularly those with a severe handicap, to find holiday accommodation suitable enough to be able to enjoy a holiday more or less independently. Many people told us that they had not been on holiday for many years. This presented us with a challenge.

In May 2000, we had the opportunity to buy a vineyard with a reasonable amount of ground in the South of France. During the moments that we spent our leisure time there, an idea was born to build a traditional, super-adapted bungalow beside our vineyard which would offer people with a handicap the opportunity of sharing a holiday with their family or friends in a private setting.

As you will see on our website click here we successfully realized our specially adapted dream holiday home. We are delighted with it; it looks absolutely beautiful! The bungalow consists of a comfortable, spacious lounge, a large specially adapted bedroom with en-suite adapted bathroom, two guest rooms (one of which has an en-suite bathroom), an open-plan kitchen, spacious hall with guest toilet, and not forgetting the large terrace with a stunningly beautiful view across the magnificent French countryside.

In May 2002 the building work was complete and since then we have been amply occupied each year. We receive wonderful responses and a number of our guests return regularly. This specially adapted holiday home is available throughout the entire year. We hope to be able to greet you soon as our guest in France.

The house is completely step-free and all doors have a minimum width of 90 cm. The tiled floor is running throughout all rooms to the terrace, car
park and around the house.
